The Great Minnesota Get Together

We took Quinn to the Minnesota State Fair on Saturday for the first time (we didn't take her last year because I was a freak about germs since she was only 4 months old. I was shocked to see such young babies there...some no older that a few weeks!)

Anyhoo...she LOVED it! Deep fried foods and all the ice cream you can eat! Next year is going to be even better...she will be asking for loads of things. And seeing as how we can't say no to her now...I'm sure she is going to get all that she wants and more :) But until then...here are some pictures from the Great Minnesota Get Together! The best State Fair in the country!

Callin her peeps to meet up at the fair :)

"So excited! Going to the fair!!!"

"This bus thing is ok..."

Pork chop on a stick! Or rather, in a tray.

"Do you eat everything on a stick?"
"I think I really like these cheese curd things."
Oh goodness, this face is too cute ♥

"Are those the tractors?!?!?"

"Gotta check out what's in my bucket before I start my chores!"

You have to be at least 2 chickens tall to ride the tractors...Quinny was 2.5 :)

"Ready to plant my veggies!"

Distracted by a plane.
And there is goes...

Farming is hard work!
Yum! Maple Bacon Ice Cream! Her's and Daddy's favorite

Ice Cold Lemonade

I think everyone who saw her eating her corn on the cob had to mention how stinkin cute this was...and we could not disagree! It was pretty adorable.

"This is my patient face"

"And this is my 'I'm done being patient' face"

Strawberry malt!

Zoning out on the bus ride back to the car.

16 months already?!?!?!?

Good grief, where does the time go? I can't believe that my little nugget is going to be 16 months in just 5 days! I have been terrible at keeping up with the posts, but as Quinny gets bigger, there is less and less time for computer things. But to catch everyone up, I'll start from her birthday and go forward:

I took the whole week of her birthday off so we could spend lots of time together (yes, I did get laughed at when I told people that is why I took vacation this week...but I don't care...my baby only turns 1 once!) We celebrated Miss Quinn's birthday with a breakfast at Cracker Barrel a trip to the Minnesota Zoo! There was the sweetest old man at breakfast. He asked if he could contribute to her savings account and gave her a 50 cent piece. It was so cute! She gave him a big ol' smile...I think they made each others day. She had a great time looking at the monkeys and the fish - definitely a daddy's girl when it comes to that!

Sitting on the turtle all by her self! Such a big girl :)

Fishies!

She had a great big birthday party on 4/21. Man, she did great seeing as she didn't have any nap that day at all because she was so excited! I was surprised that there wasn't any type of melt down, but she was a trooper and visited with all of her friends and family.

Quinny's delicious cake!

Quinny and her future hubby, Jack ♥

So excited about cake!!!

"Yes this cake is good. No, I don't want to share."

Birthday decorations, made by momma :)

We had her 1 year check up, the day after her actual birthday (for some reason, I just couldn't bring myself to make Quinn get shots on her actual birthday). She weighted in at a whopping 16 lbs. 8 oz and 28.3 inches long. She is a pretty little tyke. We are working on getting her to increase her calories. Hard part is that she can be a picky eater at times, so we just have to make sure that she is eating good food, rather than just fillers. She's getting a lot better now, but we still keep an eye on it. The pedi isn't too concerned just yet, as she is gaining weight and growing taller. Just have to watch it.

Our friends, Matt and Sara, have a little boy, Daryl who is just 5 days older, and they also stopped by for a visit on her birthday week. These two were so cute together!

In May, Quinn had her first swimming experience...and she LOVES the water! Plus, some other pictures from this summer...

"Next time...bring my suit!"

It's Cozy Coup time!
"I love swimming!"

LOVE this picture!

Rockin the shades.

"Hi!"

First knee scrap. She cried until I asked her if she needed to go inside...then she was fine.

"I kiss you Baloo!"

Her new smile when we ask her to smile for the camera.

Since the last post, we did also have her 15 month check up. Stats: Weight: 17 lbs. 4 oz. Height: 29.8 inches. Slowly but surely, she is getting bigger!!!!!

There is more that I want to add but it's late now...so another post will be coming soon :)

I can go the distance!

What a difference a week {or two} makes! Quinn does not settle for sitting still any longer. She just wants to be on the go, non stop! Check it out...

These are a few of my favorite things...

I can't believe that in a few short weeks, my little nugget is going to be 6 months old! It's funny how everyone always tells you that time flies and that you should enjoy every second of your baby. But you never really believe it until it's your turn. When Quinn was first born, I thought that the whole, getting up every two hours was going to last F-O-R-E-V-E-R!!!! Stupidly, I wished for that to hurry up so I could get a little more sleep and not look like a zombie run over by a semi truck all the time. Now, I would give a lot to slow down time!

But, since that will never happen, I thought I would list a few of my favorite things and moments about and with my little Quinny Bear (I did edit myself. If I listed everything, then this post would go on for ages. Yes, she is that awesome that my list would be that long)...here we go!

  • When she is ready to eat, she does this little laughing cry. Where if you weren't looking at her and seeing her grab at my chest or a bottle, you could almost swear that she is laughing! So not the case. You let this go too long and you will get a full blown freak out. And trust me, those are not that much fun.
  • If you do manage to get her full blown freak out, sometimes it's hard not to laugh because the face she makes is hilarious. One of these times, I'm going to get a picture of that and you will see what I mean. Don't get me wrong, I hate to hear her cry and see her upset, but that face! Too darn cute.
  • The need for her to get those little toes into her mouth! She is forever stuffing those little tooties into her mouth and sucking on her toes. Who knew that they were that tasty?
  • She is so infatuated with anything that we are eating or drinking. If we are drinking anything, she always puts her hand on the glass as if she is helping us drink. And then she waits expectantly like it's her turn. We've gotten a few good chuckles when that cup happens to be a beer mug.
  • Tummy time is a thing of the past. You put her on her belly and in 2.5 seconds, she is on her back. No more of that for this little babe! She is going to be a stubborn one like her parents.
  • This one is a give away - but when Dan or I come home, she just goes crazy when she sees us! She about jumps out of what ever she is in because she is so excited! Now that is a perfect ending to a long day at work!
Ok, there are plenty more, and I seriously could go on forever! But I won't bore you to death with all of them. I'm sure that I will post another one like this here soon...don't you worry!
